When I was a kid,I used to be fascinated with all kinds of insects,reptiles and all those stuff that normally people dont like.Even till this day,I still like those creatures very much.In fact,nothing had really caught my intention except for these few wonderful creatures.I know you will say it is disgusting but hey,you just cant criticize people's liking just because you dont like right?Ok,enough with the crap.Have you ever seen a house fly before?Of course you do!For those who never seen it,prepare your rocket and out from this Earth!(=.=)For me,like everyone else,really hate housefly because of its yucky suction sucker and its hairy body.But the fly I am going to say is this special fly,botfly.(ps:If you cant read it,then I suggest you stop it right here at once,I will not hold responsible should vomiting and loss of appetite occur.)

Botfly,like I said,is so much better looking than its cousin,the housefly.It looks like a bumble bee and much more bigger.Heres a pic of it.

As you can see,it so much better looking than its cousin right?Unlike housefly,botfly dont have a feeding tube.So I hypothesize that once this fly mates,it dies because it cant feed and its only purpose is to breed.Botfly is a kind of parasite which in this case,its the larvae which is the parasite.It normally infects rodents and mammals such as rabbit but if a human happened to be in the forest where it lives,human will also get infected as well.But thank god,this fly cant be found in Malaysia.This special fly can only be found at central America which is Mexico I think.The humid and dense tropical forest of Mexico provides an excellent place for botfly to breed.Botfly does not infect people like mosquito does.It some sort like a big bully for insect.Instead of directly hatched its egg on the host,it pick on an insect and let the weakling do the job.Mosquito normally is the victim.The eggs will take a free ride on the mosquito back and when the mosquito feeds on its victim,the warmness of the mammal and rodent will hatched the eggs,which tiny little maggots will spill out and dig a shit hole out of their host and STAY there,all for free.Heres a pic of the larvae.

The first picture ofthe larvae was taken right after it was plucked out from the human body.Notice the set of black fangs on the left hand side of the first pic and the front pic,ya,its their mouth part.See that black thing covered its body?Its actually a hook,designed to hook onto its victim so it will not get plucked easily.This is a pic of hole created by botflylarvae,known as warble.
Scary isnt it?Actually the larvae is divided into three stages,where at first stages,it is slim.At the second stage,its head is bigger than its body while in third stage,the larvae will looked like the picture I posted just now.This is the pic of a pupa of botfly.
When it infects people,this is the picture of it.The pic of the infected area and the surgical removal of the larvae.
Lucky for us,we human know how to remove it once we knew it is in our body right now,but for rodents,thing doesnt go so well because they CANT pluck it.Heres a pic of infected squirrel.
